What Is Ours To Do
For the duration of this workshop, we will operate from the underlying perspective that the problem is not OUT THERE. It is right here. It is you. It is all of us.
And in the same way, the solution isn’t OUT THERE. It is right here. It is you. It is all of us.
If you read that first sentence and had an immediate averse reaction, this workshop is for you in particular. Together, we will be suspending the belief that we are the good guys, and instead, we will explore questions like:
How do each of us––with our patterns of attention and inattention––contribute to the systems harming us all? Perhaps we didn’t create the systems, and maybe we actively denounce them, but how do we unconsciously sustain them?
In addition to denying our participation in upholding the systems, what else gets in the way of us actively co-creating the beautiful, equitable, just world that we want to see? How do we work with the things within us that get in the way?
What supports the world we want to see, and what is ours to do to create it? What does the world we are creating require of us?
By the end of our time together, you will leave with a clear map of how you participate in the systems that are destroying us, and what is yours to do to create the world we want to live in.
THIS IS FOR YOU IF:
You understand Enneagram theory, and engage in individual practice but find yourself wondering: what next? How does this help me respond to what I am witnessing in the world each day?
You want to explore how your patterns keep you from being an active participant in creating the world we want to live in.
You think that for change to happen, other people out there need to do the work.
You feel like you continuously hit a wall when it comes to moving your inner practices into external commitment, action, and solidarity.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
This workshop is not for Enneagram beginners. We will be using the Enneagram as a foundation for our exploration, but will not be covering Enneagram theory.
If you are interested in learning about the Enneagram, come join me at an Intro to the Enneagram course I’m teaching on Oct 2-4 with The Narrative Enneagram!
This will be an interactive workshop, so as much as possible, being in a place where you can participate with your video on is preferred.
Your presence for the entirety of the session is requested. We will have predetermined breakout groups for various activities so your consistent presence in the group minimizes disruption for us on the back-end.
Registration includes a video recording of the workshop which will be available for 1 week after the session.
